Healthcare affects us all, and for us, in Hublet, we wanted to understand how Hublet can provide the best digital solution for healthcare. We wanted to have better understanding the needs and usages in healthtech segment and therefore conducted several surveys to gather more information.
Hublet attended some Health Care events in Nordic countries. At these events, we collected healthcare professionals’ opinions about the Hublet Solution and the usage of digital devices for healthcare field.
There were a total of 83 responses to our surveys. The results are:
In 2019, Hublet attended the ATK-päivät Conference in Tampere, Finland. The Association of Finnish Municipalities organised this event with the main focus on the future of Finnish healthcare and social well-fare sector.
Hublet was there to introduce our Hublet Solution with the aim of assisting different social and healthcare professional groups. Kymsote is the federation of municipalities in social and health services at the region of Kymenlaakso in Finland. Hublet and Kymsote’s collaboration started in 2019.
Tuomas Hirvonen, Kymsote’s department head, has found the Hublet Solution practical, functional and easy to use. The installation took a day and was effortlessly. After this, the Hublet is ready for use every day without any hassle.
The implementation of a full-time service is being considered and it is planned to extend the use case.
“The Hublet Solution has been well received by our nursing staff in various departments. When the tablets return to the device, the docking station automatically erased the data, which is a good thing.“
“99% have entertainment use and it can be, for example, a safe environment to send a message to a loved one via Facebook. In addition to this, we offer patients mental-health-related help links and other support service links that aid rehabilitation.” – said Hirvonen. Hirvonen scores Hublet 9 out of 10.
The South Savo Social and Health Care Authority (Essote) is an organisation which develop social and health care services in 7 municipalities of Finland with 3.800 employees and 100.000 residents. They chose Hublet as a unique solution for using digital devices in their health care centers.
Objectives of the Pilot
Teppo Marttila, ICT Manager of Essote, found the Hublet Solution worked very well during the pilot period. Customers borrowed Hublet Tablets with their wristbands. They can use them Hublet Tablets for communicating with their family or for entertainment. For example, patients can play games or watch different video streaming services. In the future Essote intends to put more content to Hublet Tablets that adds value for the customers.
Teppo Marttila also added that the purpose of the Hublet Tablets is to reduce the time spent by the staff. Using tablets allowed patients to borrow and use independently Hublet Tablets, without the need of assistance from staff. This way, Essote can save their staff’s expensive working hours, as well as facilitate and provide additional services to their customers.
In 2020, Hublet conducted a user experiment as a part of the Hippa project of Metropolia University of Applied Science in Myllypuro Senior Centre. We received amazing results that were useful for Hublet and the people at the Myllypuro Senior Centre.
